Waited 5 months for the Socom - Law Enforcement Local and International Law Enforcement Community

Last September we finally made up our mind about a patrol rifle. We'd pondered about it for a couple years and finally decided it was something that I did not have..... but really oughta.

So we ordered a Springfield Socom 16 through Amchar and $1608. later the waiting process began.

Just about five months passed before the .308 arrived. A nasty Black beauty that I now have six 20 rd. mags for and they all sleep together in the trunk.

Not a rifle I would enjoy carrying around for any length of time ... but it certainly speaks louder than an AR.

Did they give you a reason for the wait time, keep you updated, anything? I'm curious how much does this puppy weigh?

After waiting several months I contacted Springfield directly rather than messing with the Distributor ... who already had my dollars and didn't really care ....... And was told they were just behind the curve on the demand for the rifle.

She's a small click over 9 pounds. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a EOTech holographic sight system for her. What's $400 more in the scheme of things.
