I'm just started to work undercover. I can't use my bulky vest that I had while patroling. I'm looking for the thinnest and lighest body armor available. Do you all have any suggestions?

It must offer protection against all 9mm ammunition and have stab protection.

Any ideas?

I have never seen anything that is both. It is either stab proof OR bullet resistant.

If you are doing UC work though a vest will give you away everytime.

A vest in UC work is just dumb, you are going to give yourself away to the gangbanger!

I wish I could point you in any direction.. I love the gear end of this line of work.

The best bet I could give you is to call BlackHawk Tactical directly and tell them what you are looking for. BlackHawk gear is pretty much the best stuff I've ever used. They may be able to do a special order for you.

I'm not entirely sure where you are going with this, but, if he doesn't have proper credentials, no law-abiding business can legally sell him any vests or ballistic plates.

What are you talking about? Any gangbanger is not going to care if his "hommies" see him in a vest or not, so why would he come here and ask for a undercover tactical vest? I am sorry but your post seems a bit out of line.

The vest I have is VERY bulky and I wouldn't EVER wear it out in public (other then in the course of my duties of course). I have a "tactical/low profile" vest that I do wear whenever I carry my firearm (I go by the rule, "If you carry a gun, you carry a vest"). This vest is LESS bulky (but still can show, depending on the type of clothing you wear). I will try to find a link for it, but it has been 2 years since I bought the thing so.....I am not sure wear to find it because I bought it from a police officer.

I think my point is missed.Why would ANYONE come'here' and ask about an UNDERCOVER TACTICAL ANYTHING?Sorry my post seems out of line.

Also for gangbangers 'caring' what hommies wear etc,I never mentioned the word CARE.Or hommies for that matter.As far as the original poster,I hold no ill regard at all.I think that He is UC for real?He will not be for long telling EVERYONE about it.Which brings to my mind the legitity of the whole thing anyway....................Dont beat me up,only speaking my mind.WORDYBIRDY
