Tears of a Cop

A little boy died last night in the arms of a cop,
Two lives forever change tonight,
Drunk driving has to stop.
Too drunk to buckle up his own son,
Yet not too drunk to drive.
Two lives forever changed tonight,
When will this madness stop?

That little boy is with Jesus now,
His daddy is in jail,
Two lives forever changed tonight,
When will it stop?
Shed this night were the tears of cop,
Two lives forever changed tonight,
The father's and the cop's

This is really a touching poem. I don't think that people realize how one bad decision can change your life forever.

Agreed and agreed. I have absolutely no sympathy for people who drink and drive. I once knew a guy who would get behind the wheel of a car and drive with one eye closed so he could keep the white line in focus. He was THAT drunk. When I asked him why he thought he had the right to endanger not only his life but the lives of everyone on the street, you know what he told me??? He said, "Well, I don't drive very fast. If I hit anything I won't hit it hard."

This is why I have no sympathy for drivers who OWI!!!!!!! I pulled over a guy last weekend and when asked how much he had to drink he said "A LOT but I handle myself well!" I said "yeah, that is why you are swerving all over the road!"

I got my lesson on drunk driving courtesy of my arch-nemesis in high-school. He smashed his moms minivan into a tree across the street from my house. LOL!

The joke was clearly on him. Very embarrassing, not only the DUI he got, not only the neighbors crowding around, but, in his mother's freakin' minivan

I got to see up close and personal what happens when you decide to be an idiot and DWI.

I took things a step further, though... I actually purchased a pocket breathalizer and keep it in my car. I take DWI very seriously and I do not drive unless I am below HALF of the legal limit. (.08 is the Illinois limit, so, .04)

You also have to be careful with that. If you just finished drinking then, when you took the test it may have said .04, but could quickly raise to .08 or better.

When I did drink I had a rule. I just didn't drink more than two drinks of I was driving. The rest of the night would be coke and water.

Yeah I do not use a breathalizer in place of good judgment. I leave a pretty wide margin of time between the last drink and any driving.

I drink so rarely that it is easy to keep in check. I'm definitely not one of the alcoholic-type college students

unless they made alcoholic protein supplements. I'd be ****ed!
