Now's the time to hug a Trooper.

Hey
Anybody working in New York should be sure that they have a pal in the Troops.
They are issuing the new 45gaps which means a new Safariland 295 is also issued.

I was told that the Troops are being allowed to "hand down" the current 295 holsters that are for the G17 or G22s to LEOs. That's about 5200 holsters potentially looking for a home.

I was offered one almost brand new yesterday ... I didn't need it so a Deputy was gifted. They have the clamshell belt loop versus the polymer that Safariland is currently pushing. (current retail about $150 )

WAS TOLD THIS INFO MAY NOT APPLY ACROSS THE STATE.

That's a gift that keeps on giving. I'm curious at the local police station here up in the mountains they provide a service free of charge "Free Gun Locks" to the public. Does your department provide this also?

We have boxes and boxes and boxes of the little locks lying about all over. And I don't mean shoesize boxes either. At least 40 pounds of locks per box.

And not many folks who either think they're a good idea .. OR ... not that (God forbid ) many guns in the area.
