Looks like he could be a good hunting dog with the right training. Grouse anyone?
Once my dogs pass on I will get a hunting dog. I love pheasant and quail.

Both his parents were well trained hunting dogs. Dodger already retrieves his toys quite well and will give them up easily to us when told and he has learned to sit and lay down, already. Now I just have to learn how to train him for hunting and maybe tracking as well, so he can find downed large game. He has also been very good with the cats and only gotten one claw in the face so far, Dodger learns fast!!!!

He seems sweet, intelligent and alert - Looks like he also brings a whole new meaning to becoming a Dodger fan.
Best of luck with him.

You got to expose him to loud noises (like gun shots)
On thing to do is while he is eating bang pots together. He gets used to it over time.
Next escalate totaking him to the skeet range. Keep him in a box in the truck close to where you are shooting skeet. After you are done show him some love. He will start to associate this with affection.
Finally get a dummy bird. ( you can find them in stores along with the scent of that animal in a bottle) . Have someone throw the bird into the air and then fire our shotgun while it is in the air. It will get the dog used to it for when you flush that bird.
