Oakley Glasses Question

Has anyone here dealt with Oakley when it comes to prescription sunglasses? I am thinking about getting a pair for work/fun, the only thing is they HAVE to be prescription. I have tried contacts, but they just don't work for me I HATE them, so I need to have prescription sunglasses as well. I have had the transition lenses but I don't like those as they tend to take to long to adapt to the inside light when it is sunny outside.

Any advice? What does it mean when it says "prescription ready" does that mean if I take it to my eye doctor they will be able to fit a lens to it?

I like Wiley X better but that is my opinion.

So these are the glasses I decided on getting. They are going to cost me a pretty penny at $155 just for the frame. Then I have to take it to a licensed Oakley dealer to get prescriptions made, otherwise the warranty cancels. Any repairs have to be done by a licensed Oakley dealer. They are covered for the first 6 months 'free' warranty, then $10 a month after that, the warranty covers any breaks, chips, or cracks in the frame or lenses.

I have a slew of oakley sunglasses, my favorite of which are the XX. (Twenties)

However, I have never gotten any of them with prescription lenses. I absolutely will have to do this before I become a L.E.O., though.

I don't know about the prescription lenses, but I've never had a problem with Oakleys, except that they're so expensive, when I lose them or scratch the lenses, I just get that much more ticked off about having to buy another pair.

Do you know about the Government Sales website? Cops get 50% off of most of the styles they offer. I think that includes prescription lenses, too. I bought my last two pairs through the government sales site, and it's a lot better than paying full price. Here's the link: http://www.usstandardissue.com

You'll have to fax a couple of forms to prove you're a cop, but once you do that, you're good, and it's well worth it. Hope that helps a little.

Stay safe.
