I don't think you really need to be concerned about me being anything of a 'boater'. It was the first time I had ever really been on the water. Additionally, it remains the kind of thing I'll only be doing on a very rare occasion.

I can see what you are saying about canoes dealing with pricks on speeding powerboats and whatnot.

I guess we had a very traditional 4th. We went to a huge park here with a lake and paths, a zoo and bird sanctuary. We had hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, apple pie and ice cream. Played vollyball, baseball and football. Rented bikes and paddle boats. The only thing we didn't do was set off fireworks. Something about loud poping noises makes us nervous.
