MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (March 15, 2007) -- Technology offers more than just a modern way to fight and win wars for the Marine Corps. It now provides a way for families to communicate with one another over great distances and keep in touch with their loved ones deployed overseas.

This is great for those who can not physically see there families. I would say that the lines are all busy after any of the breave men serving die. I know I would be frantically trying to get a hold of my loved ones and let them know that I was okay.

The most important thing while deployed is being able to communicate with people that are not in a combat state.

E-mail, Snail Mail, Videos, Audio anything. Whenever I was deployed I waited for the day they yelled "Mail Call." If I knew of other Marines that didn't get any, I would talk to one of my friends back home and get them a person to write to or vise-versa.
