So I decided to view this website to see what kind of information they were looking for and this is what I found:

The Clothing and Equipment Survey will ask you to evaluate items of clothing and equipment you would most like to see improved. The choice of which items to evaluate is up to you. Each item is evaluated separately.

Here is the nice drawing that they use to understand the process:

Now if you look at this it looks like a frecking 1st graders drawing, I mean come on smiley faces = . They are talking to our marines like they have just started school? Couldn't this be more professional?

Let's see what else they have to say:

In the comments section, don't worry about spelling. This is not a test. We want your ideas.

WTF? don't worry about spelling, this is not a test. That should make any man feel like an idiot.

Take a look at this page and mind you if you check the location at the top of the page it's a http connection, meaning that it's not a secure server. If a web page your viewing is a secure location you would see an https in front of your url. This site is asking for some detailed information like:
  • Rank
  • Unit
    • Battalion
    • Company
    • Platoon
  • MOS
  • Most recent deployment
  • Country
  • Deployment location
  • Duration
Now I can see this as a Homeland Security issue seeing how none of this information is being compiled on a secure site/server. A simple fix, secure the frecking information, these are our troops on the line and this type of information can be very useful to the enemy. The survey can be found here: Clothing and Equipment Survey Survey

Respectfully,

Captain I believe that you are right. It is no wander that they are having trouble enlisting people. Most people I know do not like being treated like children, and this is a baltent display of ignorance upon the survey makers.
