Get some glasses
DoubleTap: I was a cop on the road for twenty years, and made approximately 50,000 traffic stops, and I NEVER GOT HURT. What do you mean being so close is dangerous? The zoom on the video camera does make the violator's car appear a bit closer, but when you get to be my age, the shorter the walk to the driver's door, the better.
And what in the world do you mean "I didn't introduce myself?" What kind of department do you work for? I have a cruiser with lights and siren, I'm in uniform with a badge and gun, why the heck does the person need to know my name? The less they know about me, the better!
If you think this woman slowed down for the stop sign, you need to watch the video again. I only wrote tickets on flagrant violations. You'll see the first car come to a complete stop. The violator drove RIGHT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION at approximately 15 MPH. The detail was set up because of complaints from residents, and you'll see an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL on the left hand side of the road that kids were walking to.
You sound like the last rookie I trained who was still suffering from "academyitis."
