Steve is on a distinguished road
Hi

Hello everyone, my name is Steve, I'm 17. I'm trying to learn more about the police recruitment for people under 18.
I live in Las Vegas and I want to become a Metropolitan Police Officer.

Look at your local police department's programs. Sometimes they will have a Police Explorer program for youth to get in to. Good luck in your endeavours.

If you are trying to get in with the department a great way to do it is through the explorer program. I have been with the police explorers (not LVPD) for 6 years and the information you learn will be valuable when you get into college/ on the streets. Below I have provided a link to the Las Vegas Metro Police Explorers site, it explains what the program is and has their mission statement inside.

Many departments look at the exploring program as a way to distinguish who really wants to be an officer and those who want to be an officer for the wrong reasons. You have to work hard in the explorer post and volunteer MANY days of your time, but you are helping the police department, the community, and yourself (getting hired).

Welcome and hope that helps. Make sure to check out the Police Explorer section of this site, and ask MANY questions if you have them. I will be sure to answer them as quickly as possible.
