Interviews
Hi All,
I know that i ahve asked about this before, but I would like to ask again.
I have just past my written and physical agility test to become a Police Officer. I am very excited and a little nervous at the same time, because the next phase is the interview process. For some reason I can't seem to get past this phase of the process. Does anyone out there have any tips, pointers, or suggestions. This is a great forum and I appreciate what everyone does here. Thank you for your help.

1. Professional Dress Attire (Suit)
2. Take a couple seconds, think about your answer, then answer the question they asked you, and only that question. (This shows them you think about your actions/ words before saying them, and it is better than blurting something out and then getting caught up and putting a lot of umm...and...ehhh's in there.
3. Don't say umm or ahh...self explanatory
4. Keep your answers to the point and professional.
Good luck man!

Thanks DoubleTap!!!
What about scenario questions? I know most of them are common sense, but how do I "wow" the interviewers during these questions?
Thanks again.

Answer the way you would do the scenario. They don't expect you to have law enforcement training. They are looking for you to stick with your answer, and present facts to support your answer. They will try to get you to change your answer, DON'T!
There is no way I can tell you how to WOW them because I don't what questions that department asks. What I would tell you is to just be confident in your answer, and don't back down. They want to know you can make a decision and stick with it. Yes it is common sense, so just use that and you should be fine.
Again, they don't expect you to have law enforcement experience. The questions are designed to gauge how you think, prioritize, and react to situations. Just be yourself that is all you can do.
If you want on the top of this page there is a tab that says links...if you click that, it will take you to a section for resources, somewhere in there, there is a book you can buy for $11.95 that will help you out with those scenario's questions, as well as most the other questions.
Here is a link to our links section, there are a lot of link in there that would be very helpful to you. If you have any that you would like to include (articles are welcome too) feel free to submit them for review.

Well, I have been through the interview process and didn't pass. I guess I wasn't what they were looking for at this time. I just wanted to say thanks to DoubleTap for helping me out. I'll let you know what happens on my next interview. Thanks again.

K, sounds good! A lot of the time they get rid of people in the "interview" stage because there are SO many good canidates that they need to weed out some!

Yeah, supposedly there were 600+ applicants and only 5 or so positions available. I will get there eventually, I'm just going to need to work harder. Thanks again.
