I used it as a background investigation tool when someone applied to the security department that I worked for, needless to say, that person didn't get an interview because of the "stuff" that was on that site. I have a myspace, but it is marked private (I know its not always private), but I only have friends on there, if I don't know you, you ain't getting in!!!

there was a quip about this on the news. Apparently, some companies are starting to look into myspace, facebook, etc., when hiring.

It is real.

I have used MySpace as a tool in the following circumstances:

-Attempting to locate missing juveniles
-Backgrounds
-Gang investigations

You would be amazed at the different ways people "tell on themselves."

That being said, I don't have a personal myspace. I don't need the headache, but it works for some people. You can view pfofiles without having one of your own.

A lot of times those idiots, I mean.....fine upstanding citizens.....post crimes that they commit on videos on Myspace. They also post pictures of them doing it.....it's great.
