Well, where should we begin? Perhaps it's not the crime that can't be contained, perhaps it starts at being accountable for your actions. From the little things (i like to call pet peeves) like USING YOUR DAMN TURN SIGNAL!!!!! I understand that we (Cops) can't pull everyone over for the little things, but people, we need to police ourselves!!! If your so damn lazy that you can't stop at a stop sign, or use your $%#^ing turn signal, then where does it stop? How about FELONS being let off from the crimes they commit (look in dictionary under Kwame Kilpatrick) People need to be held accountable for their actions, then they might buck up and start following the rules. Woah, I think I got a little off track with this one. In closing, crime is moderately serious 'cause people can get away with just a slap on their wrists for the crimes they commit, AND THEY KNOW THAT!!!!! So why follow the rules?!?!?!? OK, I'm better now.

Crime stats can be manipulated to portray many different points of view. However, criminality may be used to describe what level of crime a society finds acceptable or even desirable. For example, the fact that red light cameras have been successfully banned in many places demonstrates that in our society as a whole, the desire to run red lights is stronger than the desire for public safety. There are many more examples, but I don't want to bore you all to death. If you have any doubts, force yourself to read the lyrics of any popular rap song.

Overall, in my humble opinion the level of criminality in our society is serious in the extreme.
