I believe that "honest" is not a word in the vocabulary of the average politician. "Win" is at the top of their list and "get money" seems to be an overriding goal.

Stopped to listen to a guy who was running for governor of the state a couple of years ago. He said, "In this state we don't have free education. They say it's free, but in reality, it isn't free. If I'm elected we will have free education that is, truely, free." (Thunderous applause!)
