New Springfield TRP Rail gun
Been thinking about getting a couple high end 1911's and calling it good for the 1911 model and my collection. Since I do not buy weapons for safe queens I do not want to drop 2-3k on a nice 1911 as I am poor and then trash it in the field.
I have been looking at the new TRP models and they seem to be a pretty tight set up but I have some questions. I have owned 1911s in the past and still do but do not know all the ins and outs of the model as I do other pistols.
First question, since I can't stand (see HATE in dictionary) full length guide rods and the new rail gun has a bulled barrel (appears to be bushing-less) and a full length guide rod how do I get a standard length with this set up and make it work?
Will it require a gun smith to do or can I change it out as I have on other models in the past?
Last, what is the difference other than price and model name between a standard TRP and the Pro model?
