oakland123, they are looking for an honest answer. If you go in and say you want to be a cop just so you can carry a gun and have a badge they arn't going to hire you. If you go in and say "I just want to help people, and blah blah blah" they are just going to think that you are giving them the answer you think they want to hear. Give them a honest answer and you should be fine.

You need to go in there being self confident, and stick with your answers. If you have a opinion on a subject they are asking you about, by all means tell them how you feel, do it in a respectful manner, but you have to tell them what kind of person you are.
If you show them you are one person in the interview, but then when you are on probation after they hire you, you are a differnt person, chances are they could fire you, if you are not the officer they thought you were.
