Box Elder County Officials and The Utah Department of Public Safety An Amber Alert has been issued for a 5-month-old baby who authorities believe was abducted by her 16-year-old mother. The suspect is wanted by California authorities on unknown charges. She is a runaway from Bellflower, California. Petra Ponce is "Moderately Mentally Delayed." It is reported that she is hard to understand and mixes Spanish and English.

The suspect Petra Ponce walked away from a Wal-Mart in Perry with her daughter, Maria, at about 1:30 p.m. The suspect is in foster care and left with her child, who has special medical needs. Maria Ponce has arm deformities and eczema all over her body. Petra Ponce was described as wearing black pants and a blue shirt.
